If you’ve ever visited Hamburg, you may have already met Jan-Peter Jachtmann. The determined poker expert took his first steps into the industry as a French Roulette, baccarat and blackjack croupier at Casino Hamburg. After picking up the rules for Seven Card Stud poker Jan would go on to win his first tournament at Casino Bregenz back in 1996, but this was just the beginning.

In 2007 business really started to pick up as Jan spearheaded Germany’s first and largest print poker magazine ‘PokerBlatt’, a project he continued for seven years. This didn’t stop him from putting in time at the tables himself, and in 2012 he justified his Mr Omaha moniker by taking down a WSOP $10,000 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha event. Outlasting a field of 293 runners, the German picked up his first WSOP bracelet along with a cool $661,000 which remains his biggest live cash to date. He’s no stranger to partypoker events either, having won the partypoker Pot Limit Hold’em High Roller event at the WPT Rozvadov in 2015, beating 37 others for a hefty €37,000 cash.
